Space Inquiry

We are learning about space this term. We thought about what we already know about space. We are thinking up inquiry questions that we want to find out the answers about. 

You might want to do some research at home. London found out about the temperature on Mercury. Do you think it is hot or cold there?

Welcome Back to Term 3

We hope you have had a wonderful holiday break. We are excited to be back for a busy 'Science' term. The children will be learning about planets in our solar system. As a part of this learning we are very lucky to have Science Alive visiting us in Week 3. 
We need 3 or 4 helpers for each class. Please let us know ASAP if you are available as these sessions are always very popular. Our times are as follows:

Room 9 Tuesday the 8th of August 11:30am-1pm
Room 10 Wednesday the 9th of August 11:30-1pm

Our Billy Goats Gruff Bridge Challenge

Room 9 and 10 were set the challenge of make a bridge to hold the Billy Goats safely to cross the water. We worked in small groups and practised working with different children. We had to accept others ideas, problem solve and communicate with each other. We practised with a piece of A4 paper. Next we got give 10 sheets of newspaper, string and cello tape. Check out what we created! Some were very strong , but others caved in.
