Year 3 Girls Soccer

Well done to our Year 3 girls that attended a soccer day on Wednesday. We had a great time and it was lovely to see all the girls getting involved in teamwork.

Butterfly hatched!

On Wednesday our cacoon finally hatched. It was exciting watching the butterfly flap it's wings getting ready to fly away. You can see the cacoon in the photo.

Next week we will be starting a new storytelling focus on 'The very hungry caterpillar' so it was great to see a 'real' caterpillar go through this process. 

Sports and Fitness

We do fitness every day. We are learning to take turns and follow rules when we learn new games. 

We had a special sports skills session with Nick this week. 
The Year 3 girls went to football skills

on Wednesday. The other children were lucky to get an extra swimming session. It was fun to swim with the other classes.

Please remember togs on swimming days- Thursday and Friday. 

This week in Room 9 and10

This week Room 9 and 10 have been learning about cyber safety. We have been watching Hector's World. We have discussed not sharing personal details online and adults we can trust if we want to talk or ask about things online. Please ask your child what they have learned.

STORYTELLING

We have been storytelling using Humpty Dumpty as a theme this week. Today we interviewed each other pretending to be Humpty Dumpty and an interviewer. You could try interviewing the king and the king's men at home. It was funny to hear Humpty's reasons for climbing the wall and falling off. 

We practised sharing ideas and using a clear voice to talk to our buddy and listening to their answers.

At reading interchange we practise our reading.

 We like using visual diaries to draw or write our ideas. We can choose what to draw in them. 

Garden Show 2017

We have been very busy this week in preparation for the Oderings Garden Show. Check out our Emerald City and Dorothy Shoes!

We have had a great week in Room 9 and 10. We have welcomed new children and got to know our new friends. We have been swimming and visited the library and Whaea Tracy. It has been great to get to know each other. 

Room 10 enjoyed getting to know each other at the adventure playground on Wednesday. 

 Today we enjoyed Discovery. Room 9 and 10 children play together. Our focus today was Respect. We showed respect by including other children in our play. 

 Today we visited our reading classes. We will have reading interchange after morning tea every day.
